Still Dreaming

It has been a while. Nine months. That's ironic.

I say it is ironic because we just brought into existence an idea we've been working on in our heads for quite some time. It's kind of our baby and it is called The Village. You should check it out.

I'm not writing to promote The Village though. I just want to get you up to speed on RUJA. There is so much to tell.

We hosted the first ever Boise Meets World 5K a couple of weeks ago. It was a blast! We took our first team ever to visit our little compound in Uganda. It was amazing. I can't being to relay my excitement over current and upcoming projects. I won't even try.

Honestly, I could talk about products and projects but none of that is a real indicator of success to me. We are not just trying to create an awesome business. We are trying to change the world.

So let's just get straight to the really good stuff. Rose! Each of the kids own me in a way that I imagine most parents are possessed by their children. Rose, especially.

Rose's story is her own and not mine to tell but I will say she had been through hell before Robert and Milly (our Ugandan dream team) took her in.

She missed a couple years of school and was way behind and struggling in classes with kids that are a couple years younger than her. This was discouraging for her and challenging for us. When I visited in February she was really having a hard time and was making grades that were barely passing, some failing.

Six months later, Rose is an A - B student. I have never been so pumped over a report card in my life! How did she do it? We didn't have the resources to provide the tutoring we felt she needed at that point. I was blown away. At first, I was a little lost as to the answer. Here is the secret: Love.

For the first time, Rose was in a stable, secure, loving environment. She was part of a family. She was the recipient of a supernatural kind of Love. Robert and Milly were the channel, Jesus is the source. That is how Rose sees it. So simple, yet earth shattering.

She wants to be a bank manager. She is always smiling and, consequently, so am I.

The dream is becoming more of a reality every day. The transformation I see in each of the kids is remarkable. They are chock full of the stuff that changes the world.

There is always so much to tell and we promise to do a better job from here on out sharing it with you. If you want to know when there is a new post just click the button below and we'll keep you posted.
